Applications can be sent to the office of the Foundation of Lower Saxony at any time. Projects are being discussed and decided upon regularly. As processing and evaluation of applications does take time, we request that larger projects in particular be presented at least four months prior to their scheduled implementation.
There are no application forms. The following information should be provided:- a presentation of the applicant and, if necessary, of the project executing organization
- a short (max. one page) as well as a detailed description of the project
- a project schedule
- a detailed break-down of projected costs
- a detailed financial plan with clear reference to the exact sum being applied for at the Foundation
- a statement declaring openly any parallel applications made to other organizations
- What is/are the intention/s of the project?
- What kind of public shall be reached?
- How is the project being communicated?
Basically excluded from grants are:
- projects which have already begun or are already completed
- no funds are provided to meet project financing emergencies that arise due to grant rejections by other institutions
- anniversary events
- printing of publications other than those connected to supported projects
- individual grants for study and travel expenses, support of student exchange
- projects concerning the preservation of monuments and historic buildings as well as the restoration of buildings, works of art, musical instruments etc.
- grant applications by private individuals (artists, musicians, individual scholars working outside of institutions etc.)
- social-integrative projects, which use artistic means
- museums without full-time academic management
Applicants may contact the Foundation for assistance in preparing applications. It is however not possible to provide information about the chances a grant has of being approved.
